ChatPilot
Coexistence Onboarding
Product guide for connecting an existing WhatsApp Business App number.
Coexistence Onboarding
Use coexistence onboarding when a business already serves customers through the WhatsApp Business App and wants ChatPilot automation, inbox, campaigns, and analytics on the same number.
When To Use It
- The customer already has an active WhatsApp Business App number.
- Staff still need to reply from the WhatsApp Business App.
- The business wants ChatPilot automation without changing its customer-facing number.
Use the standard flow for a brand-new number that is not active in the WhatsApp Business App.
What The User Sees
1. Select Connect existing WhatsApp Business App number.
2. Confirm that the number is already active in WhatsApp Business App.
3. Continue to 360dialog signup.
4. Return to ChatPilot while the channel activates.
5. See progress states: pending, connecting, activating, completed, or failed.
After completion, messages sync gradually. Staff can continue using the WhatsApp Business App while ChatPilot receives API events and enables platform features.
Limitations
- Webhook delivery can lag behind the redirect, so completion may take a few minutes.
- The 360dialog channel must reach a running state before ChatPilot can generate and store the messaging API key.
- Historical message ingestion is initialized after activation and should be treated as gradual sync.
- If the user closes the 360dialog window, ChatPilot keeps polling the session and offers retry when the session fails.
